so pretty eventful busy week, more to look forward to
quote of the week: "If you don't come home at 11.. i'll.. i'll... give you a curfew!" ~ mom
event of the week: John Mayer/ Maroon 5 concert = insane
- got tickets about 2.5 hours before the concert began.. crazy rush, and i realized i don't like surprises and i'm never prepared for a sudden change in plans but i went with it and it was awesome, thanks ed and his connections... "gonnexions" as kevin likes to say... speaking of which, COME HOME DUDE!!
- i had actually been napping before a run with a friend where we were going to check out all the sketchies at west ghetto, and i felt bad cancelling... but it was M5 and JM!! im soo glad i went
"When you're manipulative like me, you find a song to explain all your flaws in. That way, when someone points out a flaw, you just go, " it was in the song... bitch" ~ John Mayer
- pregnant man rocking out to a JM solo-- hysterical
- naked man on the side of the road.. didn't see that
- saw kla & co, bri's friends, sonya & co, megan, some of my sister's friends, but they didn't come with her,and basically the rest of WM, but surprisingly not my sister
- tried to call ppls' cells to let them listen to the music.. no.. didn't work too well
- cornell kids leave tmw morning... i'll miss you :-(
- monday dvd showing.. great skillful work.. provocative ideas, the things ppl said made me think.. and im sorry for not mentioning ppl in my goodbye, but u must all know i was thinking of you!

You and I can share the silence
Finding comfort together
The way old friends do
And after fights and words of violence
We make up with each other
The way old friends do
Times of joy and times of sorrow
We will always see it through
Oh I don't care what comes tomorrow
We can face it together
The way old friends do

Dear Friends,

Briefly: I stayed away from AIM for a whiile, bought a looot of clothes, got most of my college stuff, and put away most of the papers that I'd have to fill out by September. I've been working four jobs like a "mad freak," as a 9 year old I know likes to say, and am incredibly tired every day.
Musically: I found three bands that are just amazing. Sister Hazel, Better Than Ezra, and Semisonic have great albums, you can IM me if you want me to send them over to you. I just couldn't copy two songs from the Semi CD, but I'm looking to DL them soon.
Academically: The facebook is actually really useful to meet people. I have talked to at least 25 people going to Pton next year... yes, many of them are sketchy and I really wish they'd be less sketchy, but I talk regularly to about 5 and they all sound really cool.. soo I'm pretty psyched.
um im tired again. night!

You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.

Your saturation level is higher than average - You know what you want, but sometimes know not to tell everyone. You value accomplishments and know you can get the job done, so don't be afraid to run out and make things happen.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

You eat a lot and your favorite foods include the oreo bars from the Rolling Pin, spaghetti and meatballs (homemade only), and the Chicken Scampi from the olive garden. Unfortunately, you can't jump too high because you are a very down-to-earth person.

the spacefem.com html color quiz

just so everyone knows exaccctly what im doing...

hmm so really long and interesting week, that was capped off by this huge ass grad party in connecticut... to make it clearer, in the richest town in the richest county in the richest state in the richest country in the world.
but no, that doesn't make it the richest town in the world. it just makes the house that i stayed in incredibly huge and rediculously expensive. think of the biggest mansions in old field, and triple or quadruple that.
this was also the town where STepford Wives was filmed, and they took ppl from town as extras b/c they apparently fitted the stereotypical stepford wife appearance (i haven't seen the movie, this was what my friend explained). so yeah.
and so of course, huge grad party is always topped off by all these insanely drunk ppl acting like idiots, which was hysterical to watch. if anyone needs help, i think i would b a pretty good coach at beer pong, just becasue of the # of games i saw.
the rest of the night, this guy kept warning me to be careful about drunk ppl hitting on me. he thought that then i wouldn't notice he was hitting on me. smooooth.
also, in CT fireworks aren't illegal. heh heh... i bought quite a variety and was incredibly surprised to be carded. but it was ok b/c you only have to be 16. interested...?

and the reminiscing begins..

so i'm actually not really sure if i understand that high school is over. i'm not sad or anything, but maybe i just haven't realized that i won't be coming back in september. unless i somehow fail gym.
i can't even say if i liked high school or not, because i've never been anywhere else. yes, i had fun a lot, but other times were terrible, though that wasn't entirely the fault of the location.
it will, however, be depressing not being able to hang out with certain people every day. they know who they are. that, i already miss.
farewell grade school. i've had enough of repeating cliches. nothing else i say in this entry will be quite new.
ps. the senior prank sucked. how is our class so "successful" yet so not creative? argh. i shouldn't be talking --i forgot about it myself.
love and hugs

looking down on a giant

ok so eventful weekend. don't ask about the bad stuff, i won't go into it. but here's how the week played out.
monday- my bday!!! i got a digital cam from my parents, and my bro is looking at laptops to get me, and so basically, my life's wishlist is set. i went over frank's later and he made me something really cute but i donno if i'm allowed to tell ppl (ie. guys) because he might get embarrassed muahahhahaha.
tues- dave's, thane's and sam (cup's) bdays!! now, i donno about the last two, but dave is ALMOST as mature as me, and that's exciting. i imagine he'll be spending a lot of time at north shore beaches now, considering they're full of pebbles and rocks and stuff.
wed- went to see Shrek II with my girls and it was hysterical. the soundtrack is great, and shrek as a man is hottttt :-) yeah i dunno what it is with me and cartoon characters.
thurs- went to olive garden w/the trackies in preparation for fri/ sat state quals. i love OG so much and i always get the same thing. and then they sang happy bday to me and bri and everyone got dessert so that was an experience haha. then, at modell's, we errrr had fun. interesting pics of all of us with sponge bob attire. we found twisty nalgenes. could it get any better?
fri- state quals day 1. everyone did really well, but i didn't get to see most of it cuz well my tire blew out. i have no idea how but that took out a few hours. and before that was yearbook day with catered food, so as you can imagine, i ate it. no one stayed for the end of the school day. then friday night my parents had guests over, so after quals i invited brit and sue (who was still at uconn) and we hung out and then finally got sal and watched lizzie NOT BY CHOICE.
sat- i got my pton ID pics done and i dropped off a few things and had a piano lesson blah blah blah. then i was ready by 2 ish to go over to PJ HS to run (State Quals day 2). i led off in the 4x8, had the best race everrr and so we broke the school record by 10 secs and qualified for STATES!!!! afterwards, went to dave's party (a few hours late sorry!) and we got him THE coolest present. it was a lot of fun even though i was zombiing the last hour but whatev my mom actually let me stay out past 9. i guess she was happy w/me haha.
sun- i went shopping with my mommy and applied for a job at price club NO ONE MAKE FUN OF ME they start at 10$!!!! yeah so now im home and i have to go running. i think this was a pretty comprehensive update.
ohhh most importantly, i bought some new blistex. i am the happy camper.

home sweet home

so im back from my travels, and i realized that i hate these overnighters- no matter what i do, i still feel like i have to get back to home (or wherever the majority of my stuff is) to reorient myself. anyhow, i totally can't wait for college. and can i just say how amazing my hosts were? first off, incredibly friendly- they laid out my sleeping bag w/mattress and extra pillow because they knew i was coming back late. second, one of them was 2nd in the world for fencing, knew french almost fluently (having lived in france); another was top 5 of the frosh class at pton (and she was blonde! =-o ); the third was the leader of the orthodox religions organizations there; the fourth was into everythinggg and studying russian :-); and the last one was a runner who was probably the nicest girl anyone will ever meet.
but- don't ask me where im going. i still don't know. i am, however, incredibly excited for everyone who does- congrats to the yalies, the northwesterners, the lone brandeis haha, the brown, the cornelians, the hah-vahds, the MIT-ers, and the future students of all those amazing colleges that i don't have time to list! WM '04!

i'd like to direct everyone's attention to the comment on my last post, and say that it really pisses me off that some people could sound so callous and rude. to reply,
a) i think i speak for everyone when i say that online typing is in no way indicative of actual writing skills
b) the only alumni connections i have are at Moscow University and the U at Jerusalem, and before the intelligent, caring author of that comment says anything about using athletics to get into schools, don't worry, i didn't talk to coaches either
c) the commenter either doesn't know me, or is too afraid to be so polite to my face, but in the future, please come to me with your complaints and i'll be happy to "spell out" my answer a little more clearly.

lastly, i really don't care enough about what people think of me to try to impress them with stellar spelling skills on a live journal.
iz that gud enuf fer yu?

ok so really quick update
sun- tues was the duke program, the kids were awesome and i had sooo much fun. duke spent a ton of money on each of us and it was amazing and yummy and incredible, but it wasn't the first choice school for many of us cuz everyone got accepted into like princeton yale harv stanf caltech and all these great schools, and even tho duke is ranked w/stanf now, i dunno, just that it's so new i guess and everyone is concerned about name recognition for grad school, haha including me. whatev, duke is def an awesome place and the students and profs were friendly. their second year russian teacher has a terrible accent. :-)
wed- home, caught up on a lot of stuff, as soon as i get my duke pics developed i'll post them and u'll see how hott some smart kids are lol. then i hung out w/frank and almost cried cuz friendly's had no brownies. ahhhh. and then i taught my mom ebonics. and then i packed. and packed. which brings me to...
today to next saturday: i'll be in israel for 10 days, don't worry, a safe part of jerusalem. im kinda excited / apprehensive.
monday- tues: school for 3 pers, then going up to yale for bulldog days w/chris and jess.. umm still not sure how that's gonna happen maybe take my mom's santa fe...
wed- first day of school!! hahah
thurs- penn relays at upenn.. maybe ican walk aroudn campus and see what it's all about but 90% sure i wont go there.
fri-sat: princeton open house, i'll have to go up all by myself cuz =everyone else is coming on thurs.. ahhhh sketchy trainnnn
sun: yaaayyyy no more traveling starting now! and one week before ap exams..o boy im in for it.
ok sorry it wasn't a short update but i figured i'd at least try to keep u from missing me tooooo much.

final decisions

good news from college again :-)
my rents let me go to track meet today so i was doubly happy, we got second to saratoga (aka first, cuz saratoga's unbeatable lol) in the 4x8, and the frosh/soph 4x8 did amazing too. coach figured out the 4 fastest times, and that makes the state-qualifying time for the relay, soo i dunno haha crossing fingers, i love the 800 though. then in the DMR, 3rd place (to saratoga A&B) all of us were tight/sick/i dunno. highlights: the bathroom stalls-- the doors were like up to my shoulders. it was a little sketch a rific.
on the way home, bus driver somehow ended up in new jersey... took us 3.5 hours to get home
then i reaaaallllyyy wanted to go hang out w/all the cool ppl at dave's, including all the ultra geniuses that manage to get accepted to the top schools in the country no sweat, but since i have to wake up at 5am tmw to go to duke (aka 4am daylight savigns time) that was a no-go. plus i hadn't packed, done my hw, or practiced piano. ohhh well. there's always the rest of vacation... wait no there isn't. im going to be home perhaps three full days over the next three weeks. loveley, isn't it. im getting incompletes on my report card cuz of that haha but only from Madden. oh well screw that cuz im not taking the govt ap exam. who the heck needs that!
other news: bought ice cream from ice cream truck. i got a strawberry italian ice, and on top of that they put vanilla soft serve and rainbow sprinkles. i wasn't a big fan of that but everyone on the bus thought it was amaazzzinngg and not worth crying over. so i pouted and returned to my seat.
2. i got lots of candy from the store becasue im afraid of getting plane sick. i really don't get sick, but i tell my parents i do so that they give me $$ for candy. theee liffffee.
3. DUKE BETTER WIN TODAY. final four! yeeeaaahhh babbbbyyy.
4. umm dave stuyvesant (sp?) was at the meet today-- it was basically all the city schools, a few from upstate, and nassau county, and then two from suffolk. i didn't see ur buddy but the girls from that school were running by so i noticed they were there.
5. heart frank :-)
6. DEAD TIRED good night kids
